232 square miles and four boroughs remain

squaremiles

Life has calmed down after completing and exhibiting the Brooklyn map, 71 Square Miles, this winter and I’m happy to have time now to begin the other four boroughs. I learned a great deal during this time about directions I’d like to take the series over the next decade, plus. Having realized the walking maps are achievable, my plan is to continue walking throughout the boroughs while forming thoughts around scaling the project to a global and user-generated level.

Reflecting on the past three years I realized the process of collecting for and creating this work became my life. Each walk allows for inspiration, a great deal of exercise, education about our land, and a rich internal space for me to think about and process the possibilities of this work.

Here we go.
